Young filmmakers from Uzbekistan were awarded the DigiCon6 Asia Awards 2019 for the first time.

The film “Gift” by Maxliy Askaralieva was awarded the Next Generation award at the prestigious International Film Festival “DigiCon6 Asia Awards 2019” in Hong Kong. The film was the first among 25-year-old Asian filmmakers.

Shokir Kholikov’s Tea movie won in two nominations at once. The painting is considered one of the best in the Asian region and is the second major prize after the Grand Prix and the Regional Gold Winner.

The films of young Uzbek filmmakers, who are participating in the DigiCon6 Asia Awards 2019 for the first time, have won the hearts of the audience and judges.

DigiCon6 Asia Awards 2019 International Short Film Festival is hosted by the well-known Japanese company TBS.

“On the eve of the President’s state visit to Japan, it is symbolic that our young filmmakers have won this great victory,” says Firdavs Abduhalikov, Director General of the Uzbekkino National Agency. – Shokir Kholikov’s Tea was previously awarded the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, and has now been awarded high honors in Hong Kong. The movie will be shown on Japan’s central television. This is especially important in expanding the Japanese perception of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that the film festival brought together young talented filmmakers from Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Uzbekistan.
